May 4, 2009 -- MATLAB NEWS
From Campus SLC:
The Software License Coordination (SLC) unit has finalized an agreement with The MathWorks, Inc. for MatLab. Engineering will no longer be handling this agreement, if you have any questions about your license previously purchased through that department, please contact them. To purchase MatLab, you may now go to the software Website https://my.ucdavis.edu/software and purchase the license(s) that you committed to purchasing this contract year. There are 3 types of licenses that are available, please read all information in order to make sure that you receive the license that fits your needs. The license types and prices are as follows:
1. Teaching (Classroom) License: available for teaching classroom purposes ONLY. This license can NOT be used for research.
Price $40/license
2. Non-teaching (Research) Licenses: available for research.
Price: $115/license
3. Network License: Network license option available. The network license file and the non-teaching and/or teaching clients must also be purchased. The maximum number of clients that you will be using at any one time, must be purchased.
Network license file: $5
Teaching (classroom) client: $40/client
Non-teaching (research) client : $115/client

From Campus SLC:
The Software License Coordination (SLC) unit is please to announce that LabView has been renewed for the 2009-2010 contract year. Please note that there are 2 types of licenses available for purchase, they are as follows:
1. LabView Single Client License
Licensed per computer
Price: $350.00/license
2. LabView Teaching Classroom (Lab) License
This license is specifically for use in an Instructional (teaching) lab classroom, it is not to be used outside of a classroom.
Licensed per computer
Price: $70.00/license
Both of these licenses are now available for purchase and renewal on the software Website, https://my.ucdavis.edu/software.

We are hoping SLC will also do the same for MATLAB. There should be some kind of decision in the next few months.
